WHAT WERE OFFERING
Are you a night owl with a knack for solving problems? Do you have a strong understanding of IP protocols and a commitment to exceptional customer service? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!
As a NOC Technicianon our growing night shift team, you'll play a vital role in supporting our fiber network and customers across Middle Tennessee. You'll be the hero behind the scenes, ensuring seamless network operations and outstanding customer experiences.
SCHEDULE
For the first 90 days, the shift will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, reporting to the United Chapel Hill location. Following this initial period, you will transition to the night shift, which will be Friday through Monday.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include the following, but other duties may be assigned as required.
- Manage internal and external communications during network events.
- Oversee network upgrades and assist the NetOps team remotely.
- Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, identifying and addressing issues as they arise.
- Utilize industry-standard tools to monitor network performance.
- Resolve disruptions in IP, DWDM, and TDM services.
- Collaborate with senior technicians and engineers on complex technical issues.
- Stay current with network protocols, technologies, and best practices.
- Ensure network security and service quality by adhering to established policies and standards.
- Document network events, troubleshooting procedures, and solutions.
- Manage voice and data services using Metaswitch and NetSapiens Ribbon.
- Troubleshoot Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) infrastructure and equipment from Calix, Adtran, Juniper, and Arista.
- Leverage your expertise to support internal and external networks.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and proactively resolve network issues.
- Lead cross-functional coordination and collaboration through resolution.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- 2-3 years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols and networking fundamentals.
- Familiarity with Calix, Adtran, Juniper, Arista, Metaswitch, NetSapiens, and Ribbon is preferred.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
- Strong sense of ownership and urgency in driving the resolution of network issues and ensuring service uptime.
- Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative spirit.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with DWDM and TDM technologies a plus.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
