Job Overview

The Assistant Project Manager will support the successful execution of commercial and construction projects. The ideal candidate will assist in managing projects from inception to completion, working closely with project managers, design teams, clients, and subcontractors. Ensure that projects are executed according to design specifications, codes, and regulatory requirements while maintaining project timelines and budgets. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your project management skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager in planning, executing, and finalizing construction projects according to deadlines and within budget.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Utilize Procore to track project progress, manage documentation, and facilitate communication among team members.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor project status, ensure compliance with safety regulations and address any issues that arise.
  • Assist with preparing project schedules, budgets, and reports, providing updates to the Project Manager as needed.
  • Support the procurement process, including maintaining and updating procurement logs, obtaining bids and procurement information, and negotiating agreements with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Assist with the preparation, distribution, and management of project documentation, including change orders, RFIs, and submittals, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
  • Participate in project meetings, taking minutes and following up on action items to ensure timely completion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on commercial and tilt-up construction preferred.
  • Proficiency in project management software, such as Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • General understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
  • Strong understanding of document control for RFIs, submittals, change orders, closeout documents, warranties, etc.
  • Familiarity with design-build project delivery methods preferred.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Nevada driver’s license.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a current OSHA 30-hour certification.
  • Must have or be able to obtain current CPR and First Aid training.

  • Work is performed in an office environment as well as on project sites and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to walk short distances, and/or drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials.
  • The noise level in the office work environment is usually quiet. The noise level on sites is moderate
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.
  • The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
