Summary
As a Purchasing Specialist at United Source One, you will play a vital role in sourcing and managing contracts for our premium food products. This position is responsible for the daily ordering and sourcing of all dry, chilled, and frozen products to be shipped to international customers in a timely, cost-effective, and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
· Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
· Prepare purchase orders based upon established guidelines.
· Identify and source products required on order confirmations.
· Research market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings or improvement.
· Assist in the negotiation and preparation of contracts with suppliers.
· Maintain inventory spreadsheet to ensure fall-off product is being sold in a timely manner.
· Confer with Sales Department to determine specific needs and/or preferences of customers.
· Assist in receiving Sales folder confirmations; obtain accurate confirmation of expectations on P.O. or order agreement.
· Provide support to Sales and Logistics Departments of any adjustments and/or changes made to an order due to product changes, contractual changes, price changes, product code changes, pack size changes, etc.
· Collaborate with internal departments to ensure a smooth transition of orders through the company.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Proven experience as a Purchasing Specialist, or similar procurement role. Preferred 3 years.
· Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
· Knowledge of WordPerfect.
· Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
