Position Overview
The Entry-Level Facilities Manager will oversee day-to-day facility operations at USBTA’s Indian Head, MD site, ensuring smooth functioning of all spaces and support services. This on-site role includes facility upkeep, event and training support, shipping and receiving operations, and logistical coordination for both on-site and off-site personnel. The ideal candidate is well-versed in facilities management processes, detail-oriented, adaptable, comfortable working in a secure, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders, and exhibits high multitasking and organizational abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily facility operations, including maintenance coordination, vendor management, readiness of training rooms, laboratories, and outdoor training areas
- Perform shipping and receiving duties, including inventory tracking, package handling, documentation, and distribution of incoming and outgoing materials
- Provide logistical support for USBTA personnel, both on-site and off-site, including coordination of equipment, materials, and transportation for training events or deployments
- Serve as a point of contact for facility-related needs of government tenants, visiting partners, and internal staff
- Monitor supplies and equipment; assist with ordering and restocking as needed
- Maintain accurate facility logs, shipping records, and inspection reports
- Set up and break down spaces for training, meetings, and special events
- Ensure adherence to safety, security, and operational procedures throughout the facility
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks and liaise with vendors for specialized repairs or services
· Ensure all building facilities adhere to proper health and safety standards and cleaning procedures
· Monitor the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas and perform basic cleaning and maintenance within the facility on a daily basis
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Logistics, or related field preferred
- 1–2 years of experience in facilities, logistics, or warehouse operations preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Basic knowledge of shipping/receiving procedures and inventory control
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to pass a background check and meet security clearance requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and inventory software
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with government or secure facility environments
- Experience supporting training or mission-based operations
- Ability to lift and move materials as needed (up to 50 lbs.)
