Position Description
U.S. Soccer’s Coordinator, Growth Marketing will play a crucial role in driving ticket sales and fan growth for U.S. Soccer’s domestic matches. This position will be responsible for creating grassroots relationships in market to drive awareness of all of U.S. Soccer’s matches, optimizing owned digital channels based on performance, operational components of all marketing campaigns and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maximize ticket sales and drive fan growth.
Primary Responsibilities
- Partner with grassroots partners (CVBs, local sports commissions, Tourism Board, other pro sports teams in market, etc.) in match markets to develop and execute strategic marketing campaigns to drive awareness of and sales for upcoming matches.
- In partnership with Sr. Manager, Growth Marketing, work alongside agency to execute paid performance marketing campaigns that achieve and exceed ROAS goals targeting key fan growth audiences.
- Working alongside Lifecycle Marketing, work to optimize owned digital channels like email, SMS, web and app to drive ticket sales amongst known U.S. Soccer fans.
- Collaborate with the brand and marketing team (and agency where applicable) to develop compelling content and creative assets for matchday marketing campaigns.
- Manage all creative requests for matchday marketing with creative team to ensure the storylines and propositions that will drive growth are featured and are aligned to brand goals.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and make data-driven adjustments.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the growth marketing team, including asset trafficking, reporting, budgeting where applicable, and media plans.
- Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices in growth marketing, across grassroots, digital and performance.
- Work closely with other cross-functional teams such as ticketing, fan engagement, loyalty, partnership marketing and events to ensure alignment to maximize awareness of matches and tickets sold.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with an excellent record of academic and managerial or professional achievement
- 1-3 years of marketing experience with a focus on digital marketing and performance media
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Basic understanding of traditional and digital media channels is a plus
- Passion for and experience with extra-curricular activities that demonstrate leadership, excellence, commitment, and other important intangible skills (i.e., collegiate athlete, military, volunteer, etc.).
- Extraordinary attention and commitment to detail
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to evaluate, prioritize, balance, and easily switch between multiple tasks or needs
- Strong time-management skills with the ability for quick responsiveness
- Ability to work non-standard hours, including nights and weekends, and travel if and as needed
- Good team player, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Able and willing to work non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends & holidays.
- Able and willing to travel up to 20% of the time to any domestic U.S. Soccer controlled matches
- General knowledge of soccer
- Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments
- Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
