Description of Position: The Information Technology Specialist will be a part of the USSPACECOM/J633 engineering branch responsible for developing, assessing, and approving technical designs for command, control, communications, computer, and information technology (C4IT) requirements across the command
Position Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develops and evaluates C4IT solutions for presentation to J6 boards for approval.
- Responsible for estimating time and resources for the design, development, and operations and maintenance support.
- Conducts analysis of C4IT systems for technical accuracy of the architectural design, integration, and implementation.
- Oversees the wide area network infrastructure (WAN), including planning, designing, and implementing the WAN architecture and managing capacity for future needs.
- Prepares and reviews technical requirement documents, architecture drawings, supporting documents, and presents conclusions and recommendations.
- Coordinates with program offices, service providers, and external Department of Defense agencies to develop solution design packages.
Desired Skills/Expertise:
- Knowledge of cloud computing, combat support applications, platforms, and infrastructure; enough to understand/solve practical problems including their interactions and interdependencies.
- Familiarity with circuit actions in DISA Storefront.
- Exercises knowledge in military and industry processes and standards for IT, hardware, and software (such as ITIL, CMM, CMMI ISO and IEEE).
- Knowledge of laws, principles, policies, and practices of enterprise architecture and systems engineering.
- Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of Department of Defense.

- Experience at the next lower broadband/grade level (or equivalent) in performing architecture design assessments, developing C4IT solutions, and serving as a technical subject matter expert.
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering is highly desirable.
- Must have or be able to obtain an Intermediate level IT certification in accordance with DoDM 8140.03.

- Occasional travel away from the regular duty location may be required.
