United Way for Greater Austin is a regional organization, and this role may be responsible for supporting our regional projects and initiatives.
Who we want:
The K-12 Education Coordinator is an autonomous and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about education and non-profit work in Austin. You will be responsible for assisting the United Way Director of K-12 Education with planning, implementing, and evaluating activities associated with K-12 programs and performing a variety of general administrative and clerical tasks to ensure projects adhere to frameworks in a timely manner. The coordinator provides support to the United Way program team, including, but not limited to:
- Assists with organizing, planning, and facilitating coalition and K-12-related meetings.
- Coordinates with and provides direct services to support a wide range of internal and external contacts.
- Serves as a liaison between related programs and projects and keeps appropriate internal and external individuals informed.
- Organizes and implements administrative systems and procedures necessary to maintain efficiency.
- Draft, edit, prepare, and distribute correspondence, reports, memos, letters, etc., for internal and external audiences.
- In collaboration with K-12 Stakeholders, organizes, plans, and leads community service projects and events.
- Orders supplies and maintains filing systems, contact databases, and inventory.
- Assist with recruitment and onboarding of new Stakeholders.
- Supports with managing online social groups and platforms.

What you’ll bring:
- At least two years of related experience with administrative support.
- Demonstrated experience leading and working with a diverse set of stakeholders, including non-profit partners, community volunteers, and organizations.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, word processing, Zoom, email, and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a dynamic work environment.
- Knowledge of file management, transcription, and other administrative procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work as a team member with minimal supervision.
- Solid written and oral communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Personal or professional knowledge and experience engaging with social platforms and online groups.
- An ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to move, position, and transport boxes weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
- Ability to position self to kneel, crouch, stoop, or balance.

This position is located in Austin, Texas, and reports directly to the Director of K-12 Education.
