What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tri-County Recovery Coordinator position at United Way of North Central Florida?
The Tri-County Recovery Coordinator will lead and manage long-term disaster recovery efforts for the Recover Tri-County project, assisting communities in Dixie, Gilchrist, and Levy counties affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. This role will coordinate recovery services, oversee outreach to underserved populations, manage case tracking systems, and support training initiatives for staff, volunteers, and partner agencies. This is a grant funded position.
Responsibilities
Program Coordination and Case Management
· Oversee and manage recovery efforts, ensuring equitable access to disaster recovery resources.
· Implement and maintain case management systems to track individual and community recovery progress.
· Coordinate with FEMA, local agencies, and nonprofit organizations to facilitate assistance for affected
households
· Monitor and evaluate service delivery to ensure efficiency and impact.
Community Outreach and Engagement
· Develop and execute targeted outreach strategies to reach vulnerable populations, including low-income
families, elderly residents, and minority communities
· Organize and attend community meetings, disaster recovery fairs, and other events to raise awareness about
available resources
· Foster relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, and local organizations to strengthen collaborative
recovery efforts.
Training and Capacity Building
· Develop and implement training programs for staff, volunteers, and partner agencies on FEMA processes,
disaster case management, and cultural competency.
· Facilitate workshops and provide technical assistance to improve organizational and community preparedness.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in social work, emergency management, nonprofit administration or a related field (equivalent
experience may be considered).
Minimum 3 years' experinece in disaster recovery, case management, community outreach or related.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem solving skills. Knowledge of local, sate, and federal
emergency management protocols.
