What are the responsibilities and job description for the FIU Auditor position at United Wholesale Mortgage?
The Financial Investigations Auditor is a vital role in the Risk Team. They work directly with Risk Leadership to investigate possible cases of misrepresentation from both internal and external referrals of suspicious activity. Using underwriting experience, FIU Auditors demonstrate strong analytical skills along with a passion for research using outside tools and resources to confirm red flags and “gut instincts".
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Investigating suspicious activity within mortgage loan files
- Assessing simple to complex allegations of mortgage fraud related to the origination, processing, underwriting and servicing of loans
- Assessing the risk of a loan and making recommendations in the best interest of the company
- Keeping current on new mortgage products and guidelines for all agencies
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- 5 years of Mortgage QC Auditing/Financial Investigations experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and FHA guidelines
- Preferred Certified Fraud Examiner certification or other relevant QC certifications
- Familiarity with Investigative Software
- Superb time management skills within a production based role
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Attention to detail with good interpersonal skills
