Position Title: Emergency Department Nursing Supervisor
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Department Nursing Supervisor to oversee and direct the clinical and procedural functions within our Emergency Department. The Nursing Supervisor will ensure that policies and procedures are followed, safe staffing levels are maintained, equipment and supplies are sufficient, and patient throughput is managed efficiently. In this role, you will be responsible for budget development, ongoing quality and performance improvement, and fostering professional growth and development within the department.
Key responsibilities include:
- Staff Development: Promote ongoing education and ensure staff complete required annual competencies.
- Clinical Leadership: Guide evidence-based clinical practice and support team members in providing exceptional patient care.
- Resource Management: Oversee personnel productivity, staffing, and fiscal management to ensure operational efficiency.
- Quality & Safety: Lead initiatives to enhance patient quality, safety, and performance improvement.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
The Nursing Supervisor will maintain open communication with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and the Administrative Team, providing updates on important departmental matters.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field (MSN, MHA, etc.)
- Licensure/Certification:
- Required: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in North Carolina or a Compact state.
- Required within 30 days of hire: BLS (Basic Life Support).
- Required within 90 days of hire: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
