Overview
Greets and welcomes the patients and other staff to the radiology department. They check the patients in, answer phone inquiries from patients and hospital personnel. This position is also responsible for preparing CDs and pushing images electronically to other facilities, assisting physicians in locating patient images, loading images onto PACS and maintaining orderliness of the reception and film room work area, remaining HIPAA compliant at all times. Assists technologists with patient throughput, transporting patients, departmental schedule, answering calls, and any other tasks determined by technologists.
Responsibilities
Administrative and Customer Support
- Greets the patients as they arrive at imaging reception desk, gets them checked in and is a resource to assist with any questions/concerns. notifies the appropriate modality of their presence. Answers incoming calls, taking adequate messages.
- Faxes or mails reports as requested.
- Burns CD or pushes images electronically as requested. Release of information is then documented in Quick disclosure. Processes patient care information and maintains radiology related records, i.e., daily records, patient care records, and department files
- Digitizes mammography films as needed and loads outside images into the PACS system.
- Notifies technologists of STAT procedures and additions or cancellations to the schedule.
- Assists Imaging Technologists with obtaining checklist and screening forms.
- Assists Imaging Technologists with patient throughput.
Qualifications

Education:
