Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department (ED) Technician to join our healthcare team in Springfield, VT on a 13-week contract. The ideal candidate will assist healthcare professionals in the emergency department, providing direct patient care and ensuring efficient workflow within the unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in triaging patients and obtaining vital signs.
- Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen collection as required.
- Assist with wound care, splinting, and other basic medical procedures.
- Support physicians and nurses in emergency medical procedures.
- Transport patients within the facility as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of emergency department equipment and supplies.
- Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control procedures.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an ED Tech or in a related healthcare role.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and emergency procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-stress situations.
