Qualifications/Requirements
- Must have skills and working knowledge of theatrical props and furniture, and professional construction
- Experience in furniture building, crafts, molding and casting, painting, sewing, and upholstery. The ability to
- Working knowledge of sewing machine, serger, table saw, radial arm saw, drill press, sanders and hand tools
- Computer operation with usage of e-mail, Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat, FileMaker, internet navigation, and
- Paper props and prop graphic skills a plus.
- Working knowledge of safety standards and the implementation of same.
- Theatrical background.
- Collaborate with the prop and design staff in the conception, quality, and timely production of properties on
- Read and interpret scaled drawings, sketches, models, and pictures for the engineering of properties. Create
- Build props for productions. These projects may include but are not limited to: furniture, hand and set props,
- Build rehearsal props as needed.
- Assist in the estimating of materials needed for specific projects.
- Help with installs and strikes.
- Maintain and repair props for short and long term projects.
- Assist in maintaining prop inventory and restock.
- Perform and promote safe practices either in the shop or onsite.
- Maintain order, cleanliness, and security of the Entertainment Production Center’s prop shop, including
- Other duties as may be assigned.
- Experience in Theatre, production, or related field (4-5 years)
- Solid understanding of production of live entertainment in a theme park environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, with confidence to multitask and delegate as required.
- Ability to drive results of teams through strong leadership and development skills.
- Ability to identify and communicate creative solutions to challenges, and to maintain a
- Ability to deal well with ambiguity and constant change, working in fast-paced
