Overview:
University of Tennessee, Outpatient Neuro Interventional office is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Medical Assistant to join our busy outpatient clinic. The ideal candidate will assist healthcare professionals in providing exceptional patient care in outpatient medical settings.
Duties:
- Check in and check out patients- confirming accuracy of patient insurance and demographic information
- Assist with rooming patients.
-Assist with reconciliation of patient history and medications.
- Obtain, review and assist with completing MRI Questionnaire
-Provide excellent patient service by ensuring comfort, safety, and confidentiality.
- Create encounters to allow orders to be placed and provide tracking for follow up scans. This placed under the direction and supervision of the provider.
- Monitor Neuro IR calendar to ensure all precerts remain in date for planned procedures, scheduling follow ups for post op patients
-Scheduling imaging studies for patients
-Requesting imaging to be uploaded to PACS prior to office visits to ensure necessary documents are available during visit for provider review.
- Maintain patient reminders system for patient follow ups
- Process orders to ensure completion of precert, scheduling, patient notification, and follow up appt completed.
Requirements:
- Certification or diploma in Medical Assisting preferred
- Proficiency in vital sign measurement and recording.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures
- 2 years of Experience working in a medical office is preferred
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
