The Mechanical Engineering department is looking for a qualified Postdoctoral Scholar. The position is currently available in Dr. de Castro's Lab, focusing on the modeling, control, and analysis of electric transportation systems. The Postdoctoral Scholar will be responsible for:
- Designing optimization-based decision-making frameworks for zero-emission vehicles and charging infrastructure.
- Analyzing theoretical guarantees of these frameworks using tools from optimization, dynamical systems, machine learning, and control theory.
- Experimentally validating these methods through field experiments. In addition to conducting research, the Postdoctoral Scholar will collaborate closely with the PI's team to execute planned research tasks, collect and analyze data, and disseminate findings through top-tier scientific publications. They will also have the opportunity to mentor graduate and undergraduate students actively involved in the lab.
The applicant applying for the postdoctoral Scholar must have a PhD degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Applicants are preferred to have a strong background in optimization, controls and electric vehicles, as well as hands-on experience with Matlab/Simulink and Python.
Applicants that are highly self-motivated individuals, who have demonstrated the ability to work independently are desirable
