Renewal of appointment contingent on satisfactory performance, availability of funds, and program needs. Position may be converted from 9 to 11 months or 11 to 9 months based on program needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assess student learning and performance in the classroom, and clinical lab setting.
- Assist with the development, maintenance and updating of clinical competency checklists for evaluation of student clinical competencies.
- Provide instruction in MEDA program courses and other program support courses.
- Assess lecture, lab/clinical instructional needs of students in the MEDA program and coordinate the development of a plan to address these needs
- Revise and develop the curriculum related to lecture and clinical lab activities.
- Coordinate with MEDA program coordinator for scheduling lecture, clinical lab/clinical classes within the MEDA program.
- Assist with annual program evaluation, including course and students evaluation survey of courses and program as required by accreditation agency.
- Maintain quality assurance to remain compliant with all required agencies.
- Assist with preparation of annual reviews, reports and self-study reports required by the accrediting agency.
- Assist with the annual program review (APRU), and assessment of institutional effectiveness.
- Participate in program recruitment and marketing activities through student information sessions and other activities as needed.
- Attend and participate in the MEDA program advisory committee meeting annually.
- Provide orientation to the MEDA lecture and clinical lab courses for new faculty and lecturers.
- Assist with laboratory supply needs each semester and maintenance of adequate laboratory resources for student learning.
- Assist with the preparation, maintenance and updating of an annual clinical laboratory inventory for the MEDA program as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
All degrees must be earned from an accredited institution. If qualified applicants are not available, those not meeting minimum qualifications may be considered on an exception basis.
Desirable Qualifications
- Education in curriculum development, evaluation, or teaching methods, or related experience in the above.
- Demonstrated ability to work with community college students.
- Clinical currency in medical assisting.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a multi-ethnic, multicultural population.
- Ability to work days and evenings.
