Position Summary:
ABOUT THIS POSITION: Multiple positions will be filled.
Video Production crew members will work as part of the production team on multi-camera video production projects such as home football games, Jazz Festival, commencements and other events. Work may be intermittent and is dependent upon production needs, crew members availability, qualifications and skills. Crew members must be available to work on home football game days, Jazz Festival concerts, commencements and the jazz choirs holiday concert. Availability for other weekday, evening and/or weekend assignments is beneficial. The Video Production Center will provided training as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Duties of the position require candidates to be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience that demonstrates:
- Ability to work effectively as part of a crew team
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a busy, noisy production environment
- Ability to operate, or learn to operate professional video and audio equipment in a skillful manner
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possess good customer services attitude and interpersonal skills.
- Possess good communication skills.
Ability to anticipate potential production challenges and effectively deal with them.
Ability to work effectively independently as well as part of a crew team.
Previous education/training/experience with the following operations/roles: cameras, utility, audio, replay, switchers, graphics, dolly grip, production assistant or other production responsibilities.
Preference will be given to those applicants available during the times assistance is needed.
Some assignments require a valid drivers license and qualification to drive UI vehicles including a van. Drivers will be expected to complete and pass required UI Safety Office drivers training. Those available crew members meeting this qualification will be chosen for consideration for assignments requiring driving.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift, carry, and/or otherwise move and set up production equipment weighing up to 40 lbs short distances, up/down stairs and ladders and onto raised platforms.
- Ability to work on raised platforms.
Ability to perform production duties for up to two and a half hours without a break.
Willingness and ability to work in inclement weather.
