All areas of space systems, space science, space medicine, space robotics, and space situational awareness are of primary interest. The department has several state-of-the-art facilities to support space research, including the Laboratory for Advanced Space Systems at Illinois and the Composites and Additive Manufacturing Laboratory. Additional information about the department and its facilities can be found at https://aerospace.illinois.edu/.Our faculty and students are affiliated with and have access to world-class experimental and computational facilities located in on-campus multidisciplinary research (fundamental and translational) centers and laboratories, including: Applied Research Institute, Advanced Materials Testing and Evaluation Laboratory, Aerodynamics Research Laboratory, the Coordinated Science Laboratory, the Center for Hypersonics and Entry Systems Studies, Frederick Seitz Materials Research Laboratory, Holonyak Micro & Nanotechnology Lab, the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, and the National Center for Supercomputing Applications.A doctoral degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field is required at the start date, and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The budgeted salary range for the position is $106,000 to $122,000 at the Assistant Professor level, $122,000 to $140,000 at the Associate Professor level, and $140,000 to $170,000 at the Full Professor level, for a 9-month service basis.Full consideration will be given to applications received by December 1, 2024.
