Job Summary | This position will support the FAST Program Team as an Instructional Designer in optimizing web-based trainings (WBT) for the Finance and Administration Specialized Training (FAST) program, a university-wide training program for all business officers and unit fiscal administrators and/or staff and faculty with fiscal responsibilities. This position is fully remote and reports to the Senior eLearning Design and Instructional Specialist and will work with collaborative partners throughout its tenure. Responsibilities Create web-based trainings (WBTs) using adult learning methods and best practices in education and design. Use online adult learning methods and best practices to optimize web-based trainings from content provided by subject matter experts across the University. Build content into an editable format, quick reference guides, and then into Adobe Captivate to be housed in the myUK LMS. Utilize voices, images, and graphics as necessary to highlight key learning objectives and goals of each topic. Ensure all materials meet accessibility and University branding standards. Create relevant quiz questions that support retention and application. Produce and maintain processes for quality assurance standards, annual WBT review updates and strategically planned timelines for future WBT development. |
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | • Either achieved or enrolled in program to achieve a Master’s Degree in Instructional Design • Novice (or better) in Captivate, Adobe, Microsoft Suite • Required knowledge/experience in education, adult learning, and design principles • Able to apply adult learning, design principles, institutional branding, and accessibility to WBTs • Design WBTs that are engaging and retainable for learners • Works efficiently and effectively independently • Be collaborative and able to receive and provide meaningful constructive feedback • Maintain documentation processes such as calendars, project progress, update documentation as necessary, etc. • Attend meetings when available • Must be organized, able to follow directions, and have an eye for detail |
