Job Description Summary
Organization's Summary Statement:
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Human Resources (HR), the Human Resources Coordinator serves as a member of the College of Information HR team by coordinating and administering HR functions, ensuring compliance with institutional policies, and fostering a positive workplace environment.

Preferences:
● Experience working with HR processing and support in higher education, in general, and
UMD in particular (including, but not limited to supporting HR/payroll/benefits for
faculty, staff, and student positions)
● Knowledge of and experience working with UMD’s HRIS, and Benefits Systems
(Workday, eTerp, PHR, etc.)
● Knowledge of and experience supporting benefit processing and coordination.
● Experience establishing and tracking HR/benefits metrics, such as time-to-fill,
time-to-hire, and time-to-resolution.
● Masters degree in Human Resources or a field (I/O Psychology, Business Administration)
Licenses/ Certifications: N/A
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: One (1) year of professional human resources experience.
Other:
Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
Knowledge of human resources policies and procedures, and federal, state, and other applicable human resources related laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
Ability to analyze situations and determine the best recourse for response.
