What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Interviewer American National Election Study 2024 position at University of Michigan?
Role(s): Field Interviewer
Training Dates: July 9th through July 11th, 2024. (travel in July 8th and travel home July 12th.)
Training Mode: In-person
Production Dates: August 2024 - December 2024
Required Availability: Available to work a minimum of 25 hours per week.
Hourly Pay: Variable Based on Location
Data Collection Mode: In-person
Required Qualifications and Duties:
- Available to work 25 hour per week with a variable schedule that must include weekdays, evenings and weekends to meet respondent availability.
- Attend training in Ann Arbor, MI on July 9th through July 11th.
- Able to conduct cold calling (the household may not be expecting your visit)
- Able to perform face-to-face interviews in various diverse households and neighborhoods.
- Ability to traverse several blocks at a time, including ascending and descending stairs, and transporting equipment weighing approximately 25 pounds.
- A valid driver's license and access to a reliable private vehicle (rideshares, e.g., Uber or Lyft, buses and subways are not private transportation)
- Ability to travel up to 60 miles one way to study participant's home
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with cold calling or door-to-door canvasing
- Bilingual English/Spanish ($2/hr. differential)
