Position Summary
Under direction of the Director of Events, the Event Planner will provide assistance and professional expertise in the planning and implementation of high-level events and functions sponsored by the University of Nebraska Omaha. The Event Planner will work collaboratively as a member of the Office of Strategic Marketing & Communications, faculty, staff, and other members of the campus community to plan high quality events and functions. They will help to identify and facilitate discussion and decisions about issues affecting campus events; and will ensure that high standards, and/or other campus-wide priorities are reflected in the planning and presentation of events.
Events Planner will be responsible for managing all aspects of event execution for a number of events produced by the Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications. Event examples this position will have a role in will include Commencement Ceremonies, Forums, Symposiums, Convocations, and Chancellor Events.
The Event Planner will be required to be on-site at their assigned events plus any additional events the events team may need assistance with. Hours may include evenings and weekends.

- Provide professional expertise and direction in the planning and execution of high-quality events and functions, identify and facilitate discussion and decisions about issues affecting events, and ensure that campus-wide priorities are reflected in the planning and presentation of events.
- Create memorable program experiences that make consistent, positive contributions to the recruitment and retention of students and the overall quality of student/campus life at UNO.
- Maintain highly professional standards and procedures for production of events in keeping with the image and reputation of the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
- Prepare pre- and post-event analysis and assess opportunities and make recommendations for improving service to internal and external constituencies and implement those improvements as appropriate.
