Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno College of Engineering is recruiting a part-time Coordinator of Community Outreach. The Coordinator of Community Outreach is responsible for the management and promotion of outreach activities that strive to increase the number of ethnic minorities, low income, and first-generation college-bound students who are eligible to enter a degree program at a university. The Coordinator will organize College of Engineering participation in community events focused on STEM, recruit and oversee paid mentors in collaboration with the Coordinator of K12 Outreach, coordinate tutoring sessions with community partners as well as maintain donor stewardship reporting, budgets, and grant applications. This position reports to the Coordinator of Recruitment and Outreach, College of Engineering.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and two years (2) of related experience OR
Master’s Degree and one (1) year of related experience
Related Experience:
Student support functions such as recruitment, coordination of pipeline programs, tutoring, educational support services or related
Preferred Qualifications
General budget and accounting principles, preparing reports, presentations, evaluations, forms, budgets, public speaking, proficiency using personal computer and current software applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

Grants-in-Aid for Faculty Employees
The University is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate. Dependents of faculty have unlimited credits but, in order to be eligible, children must be unmarried and under the age of 24 and must receive at least 50% of their financial support from the employee and/or employee’s spouse or domestic partner.

We are strategically located in a growing tech and manufacturing area, 10 miles from the Tahoe-Regional Industrial Center, 12-mile industrial park housing facilities for such tech companies as Tesla, Panasonic, Blockchain, Google, Jet.com and Switch. Just north of Reno is the Nevada Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Test Site, where researchers develop, test and deploy technology related to robotics, artificial intelligence and autonomous systems.
