The Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management Department in the Pompea College of Business at the University of New Haven invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning in August of 2025.

You Will

This position includes undergraduate and graduate level of teaching, service, and research expectations along with a responsibility to take an active role in student development, creating experiential learning opportunities and maintaining/strengthening industry relationships. The successful candidate for this position will work collaboratively with faculty across the business disciplines, and will have willingness/ability to mentor students through regional and national competitions and chaperone students at various professional development experiences off campus. Priority will be accorded to applicants with versatility in teaching areas and potential in active scholarship suitable for the AACSB accredited College of Business. Applications will be considered until the position is filled.

You Need

Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. in Sport Management or a related field. We are seeking candidates with teaching interests in two or more of the following fields: revenue generation in sport, sport finance, sport marketing, consumer behavior in sport, event and venue management, and sport analytics. Strong applicants will have demonstrated excellence in teaching various topics both at undergraduate and graduate levels. Applied teaching experience is highly valued.

A strong research potential is required for the Tenure Track position at the Pompea College of Business. All candidates are required to submit a comprehensive research statement and evidence of strong potential for scholarly work as part of their application.

Candidates should have strong communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence. All faculty members are expected to engage in student-focused activities such as advising and career mentoring. As an AACSB accredited institution, faculty members are expected to engage in service activities and maintain an active record of relevant scholarship.

  • Evidence of Teaching - Sample teaching evaluations
  • Evidence of Research – Sample publications
  • Minimum of 2-3 references, as per the specific requirements mentioned in the job posting.
