What are the responsibilities and job description for the Education Specialist position at University of New Mexico?
- Responsible for PharmD course management utilizing appropriate software including the current COP learning management system (Moodle/Canvas).
- Works with faculty to provide course support, including assisting with set-up, ensuring consistency in course review and maintenance of course, posting of materials or any other course support as needed in an accurate and prompt manner.
- Updates and manages curricular-related software programs including, Moodle/Canvas, ExamSoft, SimIQ, Banner, Enflux.
- Provides technical support, consultation, and individualized assistance as it relates to curricular-related software to faculty, other COP instructional personnel, and students.
- Manages the exam process: calendaring as well as coordination with faculty on the creation, review, reporting, analytics, posting, etc.
- Coordinates and provides support for all Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) using simulation management software (SimIQ) and other applicable software.
- Assists the Sr. Operations Manager in preparing assessment reports which summarize program outcomes and student performance in collaboration with the Sr. Operations Manager, maintains and updates all forms related to OCA policies and procedures.
- Contributes to the overall success of the College by performing other duties related to curricular affairs as assigned (including but not limited to): training and evaluation, Continuing Pharmacy Education, Co-curriculum, and ACPE Accreditation.

- Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
- Experience supporting faculty and students in a higher education environment.
- Experience with Banner, Moodle/Canvas, SimIQ, and/or other related higher education software.
- Providing support during on-site, real-time simulation learning environments and classrooms.
- Experience in creating and providing training to stakeholders.
- Presenting/providing information in an organized, cohesive form.
