The University of North Alabama is accepting applications for the Occupational Therapy Program Lecturer position within the Anderson College of Nursing and Health Professions. This position will be responsible for program compliance/oversight of the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program baccalaureate project and assist in the curriculum design, strategic planning, teaching, and student advising for a new occupational therapy assistant program per the Accreditation Council of Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) Standards.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential duties will include oversight of the occupational therapy assistant program’s baccalaureate projects, including helping select projects, finding content experts, ensuring alignment with the program’s curriculum design, reflection on the mission and philosophy of the program, and contributing to the advanced knowledge of the profession, as well as maintaining a means of formal evaluation of these student performances during and at the completion of the project. Additionally, the program instructor will be responsible for teaching occupational therapy courses in the program. Additional responsibilities will include course development; advising program students; maintaining office hours; serving on committees as necessary to maintain and improve the instructional program; participating in appropriate professional development activities; ; participating in service to the university and the community; and instructing and assisting in the growth and success of a diverse population of students through careful preparation of course materials, effective teaching methods, and informed critical feedback on assignments and discussions.
