Work Schedule | This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule to include both in person and telework/remote work. Schedule will vary and will be flexible including evening and weekend work during camp operations from June through August each summer to include all in person work during this time frame. The typical schedule during non camp operations is Monday - Friday from 8 am - 5 pm . Must be able to travel to meetings, and elsewhere, as required. |

Primary Purpose of Department | The School of Professional (SPS) reports to the division of Academic Affairs, reporting to the Associate Provost. SPS works collaboratively with departments, colleges, and academic support units to ensure integrated partnerships for enrollment growth, student success and faculty effectiveness in teaching. |
Primary Purpose of Position | Reporting to the Director Program Management, the Program Manager provides overall leadership and managerial oversight of Camps on Campus and Youth Programming. The Program Manager will manage and grow the robust portfolio of 100 week-long summer camps and 2,000 camper registrations over a 10 week period each summer as well as creating, scheduling, and managing year-round workshops on teacher work days and weekend programs. Additionally, the Program Manager is responsible for developing innovative ways to continue expanding Youth Programming beyond the reach of the summer season, by offering youth programs at more times throughout the year. This position hires, supervises and coordinates the work of a seasonal camp staff of 70 paid temporary employees, as well as many volunteers who aid in program delivery and operational support. Responsible for overseeing behavior and group management of all staff and campers' safety and security in an academic enrichment setting. Responsible for creating staffing schedules, approving any time off requests, schedule changes, or alterations to the schedules for a seamless camp operation. Attendance and punctuality are a must for this position. The Program Manager also leads crowdfunding and scholarship initiatives for Youth Programs and is expected to serve as an active leader and subject matter expert both on-campus and with related professional associations in the discipline. |
Summary of Position Responsibilities |
The position requires the ability to prepare for and effectively respond to emergency situations and perform physical tasks, including pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying a minimum of 35 pounds across campus. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors for up to 6 to 8 hours per day and demonstrate a commitment to the growth and development of all youth programs. Additionally, the role involves driving a 15-passenger van, requiring a valid driver's license and the ability to safely transport participants as needed. |
