The Institute for Educational Initiatives strives to improve the education of all youth, particularly the underserved, with an emphasis on Catholic schools. Its teaching, scholarship, and service reflect Notre Dame's commitment to advance K-12 schooling. The Institute operates numerous programs and initiatives in pursuit of its mission, including programs aimed at strengthening and sustaining Catholic schools through the Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE).
The Institute for Educational Initiatives seeks an experienced professional evaluator for the role of Director of Program Evaluation and Research. The Director is responsible for overseeing and contributing to formative and summative evaluations of various programs within the Institute as well as cultivating a spirit of inquiry and collaborating on research with and among Institute faculty. The Director will be instrumental in advancing the position of the Institute as a national leader in effective data practices through partnerships with (arch)dioceses. The Director will also be a member of the faculty, teaching at least two courses in their area of educational expertise during the academic year and/or summer session.
Competitive candidates will have a terminal degree in a relevant field, experience conducting program evaluations (preferably for educational organizations), and demonstrated excellence in scholarship. Familiarity with and previous experience working or researching in Catholic education is strongly preferred. The Director is appointed to the Teaching, Research, or Professor of the Practice Faculty of the University of Notre Dame at a rank commensurate with experience. The position will begin July 1, 2023.
