Essential Functions
Assist in the preparation and review of monthly financial reports for construction projects.
Collaborate with Facilities Management to develop and monitor budgets, including capital expenditure plans.
Generate detailed financial reports, including expenditure summaries and cost breakdowns.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting to align costs with project schedules and scope.
Track budget variances and provide explanations for discrepancies.
Reconcile project accounts to ensure accuracy and up-to-date financial records.
Review and process invoices related to construction projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
Review purchase orders and receipts to ensure proper recording and classification of costs.
Allocate project expenses to the appropriate cost codes, ensuring compliance with internal accounting procedures.
Collaborate with project managers to track and document any change orders, delays, or additional costs.
Serve as a key point of contact for construction project managers regarding financial queries or issues.
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., AP, AR, procurement) to ensure smooth financial operations.
Assists with various special projects as needed.
Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.
Complies with all State and University policies.
Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: No supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
and
Experience: Two to four years of professional accounting experience. Experience with general ledger reconciliation, financial reporting, and budgeting.
Preferred Qualifications: Governmental, higher education, or non-profit accounting experience may be preferred in some organizations.
