Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Substitute Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment and ensuring that students continue to engage with the curriculum in the absence of their regular teacher. This role requires flexibility, strong classroom management skills, and the ability to educate students across various subjects, including Math and Literacy.
Duties
- Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure continuity of instruction.
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a productive learning environment.
- Provide support to students with special needs, utilizing skills in special education as necessary.
- Facilitate learning activities that promote literacy education and early childhood education principles.
- Assist in curriculum development by providing feedback on lesson effectiveness and student engagement.
- Tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles and needs within the classroom.
Qualifications
- Experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain order and discipline.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods or other alternative educational approaches is a plus.
- Background in literacy education, math instruction, or curriculum development is desirable.
