We are looking for a Corporate Controller to join our client's growing Finance team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in accounting and finance, with excellent technical skills, a keen analytical mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic team environment.
Reporting directly to the CFO , this role will oversee key corporate accounting functions, including financial systems management, accounting policies, internal controls, and the preparation of internal and external financial statements and reports.
Responsibilities :
- Lead and develop the accounting team to support the growth in scale and complexity of the organization.
- Direct responsibility for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Ensure financial statements accurately reflect company performance and results. Endorse internal and external financial reporting and disclosures as required, including any statutory and lender reporting.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to include, but not limited to : finance, operations, and sales team to ensure monthly results are promptly and clearly communicated to the leadership team.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive set of GAAP compliant policies and practices with a focus on simplicity for the business team to ensure clarity of understanding and ease of application.
- Counsel the CFO and company senior management on technical accounting matters as necessary to address and resolve appropriately and in accordance with accounting guidelines.
- Stay current on technical accounting, regulatory, and financial reporting developments to ensure client maintains compliance with developing standards and regulations.
- Design and implement an appropriate internal control framework for financial transacting and reporting, including cross-functional elements as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain control policies, standards and procedures that comply with all regulatory guidelines and promote cost-effective risk mitigation.
- Lead the tax function, including engagement of external advisors as appropriate.
- Manage relationships with key external parties on behalf of client, including external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and consultants as necessary.
- Collaborate as strategic advisor to the CFO on financial planning and risk management initiatives.
