Job Description
Job Title: Shift Coordinator
Location: Dayton, OH
Program: Group Home Foster Care
Classification: Full-Time, 12-Hour Shifts
Position Summary:
The Shift Coordinator serves as a critical link between Residential Youth Specialists and supervisor, ensuring smooth daily operations and compliance during their assigned shift. The Shift Coordinator is a support to the staff and youth in care, ensuring that the operations of a shift remains compliant and upholding the quality standards of the organization.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is a plus.
Primary Responsibilities:
Shift Management:
- Assist in coordinating daily shift activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of youth and staff.
- Partners with Residential Youth Specialists to ensure that all daily tasks are completed.
- Address immediate concerns or emergencies effectively and professionally.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate compliance documentation (medication, vehicle, etc.)
- Ensure critical incident reports are completed by the end of each shift.
Staff Support and Development:
- Provide support and coaching to Residential Youth Specialists during shifts.
- Act as the first point of contact for staff concerns or challenges during the shift.
Youth Care and Engagement:
- Oversee the care, supervision, and support of youth, ensuring all physical, emotional, and educational needs are met.
- With assistance from administration and supervisor, facilitate appointments, transportation, and daily schedules as needed.
Emergency Preparedness:
- Lead emergency drills and responses during shifts.
- Address crises and escalate concerns to the supervisor when necessary.
Collaboration:
- Communicate regularly with the supervisor about shift updates and ongoing concerns.
- Build positive relationships with youth, staff, and external stakeholders.
Additional Duties:
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Driver’s License (required)
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.
- Excellent documentation skills
- Familiarity with compliance standards in youth services.
- Ability to de-escalate situations and maintain a calm, professional demeanor.
- Commitment to fostering a positive, supportive environment for both staff and youth.
Compensation: $19-$20/hr; Negotiable, based on experience and qualifications.
COVID-19 Considerations: Shift Coordinators are encouraged to adhere to all agency safety protocols.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
