We are seeking a detail-oriented Surgical Services Scheduling Coordinator to be responsible for administrative and clerical tasks. The Surgical Scheduler's responsibilities include scheduling all OR, ACU and Endoscopy patients, as well as, maintaining staff schedules and maintain supplies. This position also performs chart preparation, completes prior authorizations, answers incoming phone calls, and makes reminder phone calls to patients. The Surgical Scheduler will work in multiple electronic medical records/computer programs and with insurance companies.
Required Skills:
• Keyboard skills 40 word per minute with minimal errors.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Works independently with proven organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and exercise sound judgment.
• Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Position Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Familiarity with medical terminology preferred
Past medical experience preferred
Annual influenza vaccination or declination required
