Position Title: Registered Nurse - Recovery Department
Location: Upland Hills Health - Dodgeville Hospital Campus
Role & Department: Registered Nurse in the Surgical Services Department
Hours & Shift: Part-time (.6 FTE) day shift position, Monday through Friday shifts with on-call responsibilities
Role Responsibilities:
- Ability to plan, direct and/or implement and evaluate the nursing care delivered to patients
- The Recovery Department Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing the spiritual, emotional, and physiological needs of the pre-operative, peri-operative, and post-operative patients; and planning the nursing care to meet these needs
- The Recovery Department RN is responsible to see that the plan of care is carried out through performance and/or leadership of subordinate personnel
- The Registered Nurse may be asked to work alternate shifts at times
- Staffing a shift other than your hired shift is not mandatory, although it is encouraged and appreciated
- The Recovery Department RN may be required to cross-train to another patient care area within the Surgery Department depending on staffing needs
- Primary work responsibilities will include working in the Pre/Post Op area as well as working in the PACU
- Cross–training to other nursing areas is encouraged after competence is established in the primary RN role
Qualifications:
- Candidates should be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Candidates need to be licensed and have a current registration as a professional nurse in the State of Wisconsin
- ACLS, PALS, and BLS are required for Recovery Department Registered Nurses
- No specific past clinical experience is required
- Ability to communicate exceptionally well (verbally and written).
- Continued interest in professional growth through attendance of continuing education, in-services, and participation in professional organizations
- Membership in professional organizations preferred
- Certification in practice specialty preferred
- Prior experience using the EPIC medical record system is preferred but not required

Employment Bonus: This position is eligible for “up to a $5,000.00 Employment Bonus” which is prorated based on the FTE. Bonus payments will be made based on the FTE schedule below:
1.0 FTE $5,000
.9 FTE $4,500
.8 FTE $4,000
.7 FTE $3,500
.6 FTE $3,000
.5 FTE $2,500
The Employment Bonus will be paid out at set times during the first 3 years of employment in 6 separate equal installments. Those respective bonus payments will be made at the following periods: after completion of 6 months, 1 year, 18 months, 2 years, 30 months and a final payment at the 3 year anniversary. This Employment Bonus will be paid for Clinical Dietitian positions who are hired at a .5 FTE employment status or greater. Dietitian must continue to be employed at a .5 FTE status or greater at the time each of the bonus payment to be eligible to receive it.
