Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, assisting them in their daily activities and promoting their overall well-being. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care in a hospital or clinical setting, ensuring that patients receive the attention and support they need.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and recreational activities.
- Monitor patient behavior and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Implement therapeutic interventions based on individualized care plans, including cognitive behavioral therapy techniques.
- Engage with patients in group settings to facilitate discussions and promote social interaction.
- Collect and maintain accurate data on patient progress and behavior for treatment evaluations.
- Support crisis management efforts by de-escalating situations and providing immediate assistance as needed.
- Maintain medical records in compliance with hospital policies and regulations.
- Collaborate with social workers and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for individuals with autism or other developmental disorders.
Requirements
- A background in social work, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with applied behavior analysis techniques is a plus.
- Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum is highly desirable.
- Strong crisis management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to perform data collection accurately for patient assessments.
- Knowledge of coding practices related to medical records is beneficial.

Pay: $40.00 - $49.77 per hour
