Patient Account Assistant

Summary:
Upper Great Lakes Family Health (UGLFH) is seeking a Patient Account Assistant post payments and adjustments to patient accounts and perform limited reporting and balancing of daily transactions.
Responsibilities, included but not limited to:
- Posts insurance and patient payments including contractual and non-contractual adjustments, refunds, voids and recoupment transactions.
- Posts appropriate adjustments as required according to terms of insurance contracts.
- Monitors reimbursements for underpayments and remittances with zero payments and notifies the AR team to resolve.
- Reconciles posted payments daily.
- Assists with Care Management claim submissions.

Job Qualifications:
- Proficient preparing correspondence and simple reports using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and/or CPT/ICD-10 coding.
- Experience in healthcare billing, preferred.
- Experience utilizing an electronic health record system, preferred.
- Basic level of written and verbal communication skills, computational and computer skills and mathematical knowledge typically acquired through completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
