JOB DESCRIPTION
The Tasting Room Manager at Upsidedown Wine will manage the tasting room’s day to day operations, sales goals, and the guest experience. You will be the face of Upsidedown in Hood River; hire and manage a small team and cultivate a dedicated wine following.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Ordering tasting room supplies, charcuterie supplies
· Schedule team members on Homebase
· Payroll audit: ensure team members’ hours are entered into Gusto and logged accurately. Entering tips and wine club bonuses into Gusto and on Google tracking sheet
· Deposit cash and checks, ensure til has enough cash for daily operations
· Run sales reports to gauge traffic
· Hood River inventory: Count, audit, and adjust
· Communicate with owners on inventory needs in a timely and efficient manner. At times, will need to meet at a halfway point to pick up inventory
· Mange and fulfill all online shipping orders
· Update BOL’s for inventory coming and going to and from Hood River
· Change tasting flight, update menus, and add write up on each wine on the flight for team
· Event Planning
· Ensure we are up to date with local and federal licenses (Liquor, Health Dept, etc) work with owners to execute in a timely manner
· Oversee consumer experience for the tasting room, ensuring the experience is “best industry” for each guest
· Provides leadership to attract, develop, and retain high quality team members
· Monitors and ensures achievement of performance goals and objectives either directly or through staff
o Tracking team club sign-ups (bonuses), and daily tips
· Communicate often and effectively with owners ensure the tasting room is running smoothly
· Assist with social media marketing
· Maintain the tasting room to impeccable cleanliness standards
REQUIRED SKILLS:
· Excellent people management and customer service skills
· Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
· Knowledge of wines and wine production
· Must be able to create a fun, organized, and safe work environment for staff
· Excellent verbal communication skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, google docs / sheets, and POS systems (Commerce7 and Vinoshipper), Mailchimp, Canva, Gusto, Homebase, Shippo)
· Must be capable of working independently while managing multiple tasks at once
· Ability to manage priorities and workflow
· Ability to stand for 6-8 hours and lift cases of wine
· Must maintain professional appearance and demeanor
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
