What are the responsibilities and job description for the PET/CT Technologist position at Upstate University Hospital?
Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of an authorized user, the PET/CT technologist will perform high-quality diagnostic procedures and carry out all related functions pertaining to PET/CT examinations. They will collaborate with Radiologists, Physicists, and Radiation Safety to ensure that all equipment, policies, and procedures adhere to ACR standards, manufacturers' recommendations, and NYS Radiation Safety Guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
AAS in Radiologic Technology or equivalent is required. The candidate must have a NYS license/registration in Nuclear Medicine (obtained within 6 months of limited permit) and be registered with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) (obtained within 1 year of appointment). One year of experience as a radiologic technologist, plus current CPR-BLS certification, are also required.
Preferred Qualifications:
BS in Nuclear Medicine Technology is preferred. The candidate should have a NYS License/Registration in Nuclear Medicine and be registered with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive technical experience is also required.
Work Schedule:
The work schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with specific hours to be determined. Working weekends and holidays on a rotational basis may be required, and overtime may be necessary based on departmental needs.
