About the Opportunity
This is an opportunity for a skilled and proactive HR Generalist to join our client’s HR team. The HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting the human resources department by managing a variety of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and training. This position requires a versatile individual who can handle day-to-day HR tasks while contributing to the development and implementation of HR policies and programs.
About the Company
Our client is the US subsidiary of a prominent Japanese real estate company. They are responsible for the company’s real estate investment and development activities in North America, and is headquartered in New York. Our client currently owns over 5,000 operating apartments, with an additional 6,000 units in development; almost 10 million square feet of commercial space, with over 4 million square feet in development; and over 750 hotel rooms. Their primary investment objective is joint venture equity investments in multifamily, office, life science, and mixed-use developments with best-in-class partners.
Role and Responsibilities
• Recruitment & Onboarding: Assist in job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and the onboarding process for new hires
• Employee Relations: Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries, mediate workplace conflicts, and promote a positive work environment
• Benefits Administration: Manage employee benefits programs, including enrollment, updates, and communication with vendors
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including maintaining accurate employee records
• Training & Development: Coordinate employee training programs and assist in performance management processes
• Payroll Support: Collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee compensation and updates
• Policy Implementation: Assist in developing, updating, and enforcing HR policies and procedures
• Reporting: Prepare HR-related reports, such as headcount, turnover, and diversity metrics, as needed
• Special Projects: Participate in HR initiatives, such as employee engagement programs or team building efforts
Qualifications
• Strong analytical skills. The ability to gather, organize and clearly summarize information
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
• Independent and self-motivated, but able to function well in a collaborative, collegial environment
• Well organized with attention to detail
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
• Japanese speaking is a bonus (although not required)
Compensation
$100,000 - $110,000
100% company-paid benefits that include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability; a 401(k) savings plan with company match; and paid holidays, vacation, sick, and personal days
