Urbana Country Club is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Aquatics Supervisor for a full-time position to oversee and manage all aspects of our pool operations from Mid-April through Mid-September. This role is ideal for a proactive leader who can create a safe, clean, and engaging environment for members, guests, and staff. The Aquatics Supervisor will coordinate and supervise all pool personnel, activities, and maintenance while ensuring top-notch service and safety. We are a licensed American Red Cross Training facility!
- Serve as the Leader of the Aquatics Department, managing all pool operations and staff.
- Supervise swimming lessons, instructors, lifeguards, pool members, pool parties, and related activities.
- Oversee all aspects of pool operations, including safety, cleanliness, and member satisfaction.
- Monitor and manage the operation of filtration systems, chlorination, and pH levels to meet health standards.
- Communicate pool chemical needs to the maintenance team in a prompt and timely manner.
- Supervise the cleaning and upkeep of all pool facilities, including chairs, diving boards, showers, locker rooms, and the pool office.
- Coordinate and manage pool activities, including events during and after official Club hours.
- Maintain payroll records, staff schedules, and pool attendance logs.
- Register members at the pool and ensure proper billing for guests and lessons.
- Provide staff orientation, training, and ongoing professional development.
- Enforce Club safety and conduct rules, ensuring a positive and enjoyable environment for all.
- Approach discipline constructively, provide helpful feedback, and recognize accomplishments with enthusiasm.
- Maintain detailed records, including pool attendance, chemical usage, accident reports, schedules, and more.
- Perform 4-hour mandatory training per American Red Cross.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Resort management.
- Report directly to the Resort Director.
Preferred Qualifications/Requirements:
- Certified in First Aid, Lifesaving, and AED usage (required, American Red Cross)
- Working knowledge of pool design, maintenance, and safety requirements.
- CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification preferred but not required.
- Proven ability to plan, promote, and execute pool programs effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Ability to train and evaluate pool attendants for competence and effectiveness.
