Position Overview: We are seeking to add a driven VP of Federal Business Development on our robust and high performing Government Affairs team. It is best to apply if you with current, active federal relationships and a proven track record in securing grants and funding and RFP responses. This role is critical in forging and maintaining strategic government partnerships and in driving projects from concept to contract.
Key Responsibilities:
Leverage Existing Federal Relationships:
- Utilize your current, active contacts within federal agencies to open doors for new opportunities.
- Directly engage with federal decision-makers to build lasting partnerships.
Grant and Funding Expertise:
- Identify, pursue, and secure federal grants and funding opportunities.
- Lead proposal development and bid processes, ensuring compliance with federal requirements.
Strategic Federal Outreach:
- Develop and execute a targeted plan to expand Urbana Systems’ presence within the federal market.
- Represent Urbana Systems at government events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance our federal network.
Pipeline and Compliance Management:
- Maintain a robust pipeline of federal opportunities.
- Monitor federal procurement processes and ensure adherence to all regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Extensive, current federal relationships and demonstrable success in government contracting.
- Significant experience in securing and managing federal grants and funding.
- Deep knowledge of federal procurement processes and regulatory compliance with housing required.
- Proven ability to work independently and across-multi functional teams such as operations and marketing.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, like Hubspot and strategic planning tools.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Government Affairs, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10 years of experience in federal business development, government relations, or federal grant management.
- Demonstrated success in securing multi-million-dollar federal funding awards.
- Experience navigating HUD, FEMA, USDA, and other federal housing-related agencies is a plus.
- Willingness to travel as needed for meetings, networking events, and contract negotiations.
