Duties

  • You will perform administrative and clerical duties in support of the work of a moderately complex organization, where there is a system of formal internal procedures and administrative controls.
  • You will review each submitted instruction for correct format, grammar, and completeness prior to submission to the chain of command for approval.
  • You will provide regulatory advice on drafting command policy statements and directives.
  • You will research local forms and directs the command Forms Committee on which forms may be considered for local publishing.
  • You will design, schedule, and conduct forms management training and assistance visits to departments within the command to ensure adequate forms management requirements are established and carried out.
  • You will ensure the preparation of correspondence is in accordance with prescribing issuances and proper Naval format.
  • You will type a variety of material such as Naval messages and other associated correspondence generated; prepare periodic reports as required; maintain documents in electronic files for easy retrieval, etc.

Qualifications

All applicants must be able to type at least 40 words per minute with 3 or fewer errors, based on a 5 minute sample.

In order to qualify for this position MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT (OA), GS-0344-07, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Utilizing various regulations, policies, and instructions pertaining to the Forms and Reports Program, (i.e. Navy Performance Evaluation Program, and Navy Recognition, Awards Program, etc...), to coordinate the administration of programs);
  • Using automated personnel programs to coordinate and track personnel actions;
  • Performing reviewing publications, directives, other materials, taking appropriate follow-up actions, preparing materials, etc.…), to researching local forms and directing the command Forms Committee on which forms may be considered for local publishing; and
  • Utilizing office equipment, computer applications, databases and systems, (i.e. typewriters, copiers, fax machines, computers, word processors, graphics, spreadsheets, database management systems to include Microsoft Office, etc..), to perform and/or support administrative duties.
