Job Summary:
The Pump Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of a variety of pump systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for our clients. This role requires a strong technical background, a commitment to safety, and excellent problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on a range of pump systems, including centrifugal, split case, AODD, rotary, vertical, horizontal, and specialty pumps
- Diagnose and troubleshoot pump-related issues, identifying the root cause of problems and implementing appropriate solutions efficiently
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble pump components, adhering to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices
- Maintain comprehensive records of all service activities, including parts used and work performed
- Must be able to effectively complete job site service calls and repairs
- Collaborate with the sales and engineering teams to provide technical guidance and support to clients
- Comply with all relevant safety regulations and ensure a safe work environment for both team members and clients
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with industry trends and technological advancements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a technical or vocational certification in a relevant field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or Pump Technology)
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Pump Technician or in a similar role, preferably in the industrial or commercial pump industry
-Must have a TWIC Card or be able to obtain one upon hire
- Proficient in the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of pump systems, including centrifugal, positive displacement, and specialty pumps
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex pump-related issues
- Familiarity with hydraulic principles, electrical systems, and mechanical components
- Mechanically inclined and proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialized pump servicing equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with clients and team members
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call and weekend shifts, to meet client needs
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record and the ability to travel to client sites as needed
