Job Summary
The School of Education at The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) invites applicants for one full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor position beginning August 2025 with requirements to be physically present on campus. This is an exciting opportunity to join a large and diverse school that is home to approximately 1,200 students in six program areas: 1) Elementary Education, 2) Special Education, 3) Secondary Alternate Route, 4) Higher Education Administration, 5) Educational Administration, and 6) Educational Research.
Our faculty have established scholarship records in leadership development, conflict management, and school board-superintendent relations. While the research area of specialization for this position is open, we are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in analyzing P-12 achievement data, educating diverse learning populations, fostering community and stakeholder relations, and developing operational best practices for school leaders. We offer Specialist and Doctoral degrees that prepare leaders for both building-level and district-level positions.
