The Inside Sales Manager is responsible for increasing sales in existing and new markets and attracting (and keeping) new customers through all sales channels including the website. Success is accomplished by building, retaining, motivating, and growing a high-performance team by fostering productivity and collaboration. This position is pivotal to executing strategic vision and achieving enterprise-wide goals.
Responsibilities
- Implement and evaluate sales strategies that support company sales and revenue goals.
- Provide strategic vision for sales operations and inventory management to senior management.
- Establish target/strategic accounts with senior management and outside sales team members.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and attachment selling within existing customers.
- Utilize established reporting tools to manage weekly, monthly, quarterly, and YTD performance.
- Interview, onboard, and fully train new team members.
- Provide coaching and guidance to Inside Sales Representatives including:
- Ensure that team members are consistently performing to company standards.
- Meet with full sales team monthly and individuals as needed to review team performance, lessons learned, share successes, and implement new monthly plans.
- Build an open-communication environment for your team and actively listen to issues presented, provide direction, and take appropriate corrective action.
- Measure, manage, and drive the necessary size and shape of sales funnel (leads, prospects, quote opportunities, quotes, orders) to meet sales goals.
- Coach over-the-phone, over-the-email sales methods, and other tactics for individual order opportunities, programmatic sales campaigns, and maximized profitability.
- Communicate and instill best practices for customer on-boarding and retention.
- Generate industry-leading quote quality and quote response time.
- Conduct semi-annual performance reviews to formalize ongoing feedback.
- Encourage team members to be continually learning and actively participating in any training materials available to further personal growth and to achieve team goals.
- Assess satisfaction with existing customers, as well as forgone opportunities, to better understand Group success and areas for improvement.
- Achieve high Net Promoter Score results with customers vs industry benchmarks.
- Facilitate support to Outsides Sales personnel in alignment with senior management goals.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide best possible customer service and achieve company-wide goals, including:
- Marketing
- Sales Operations
- Purchasing and Outside Sales
- Advocate sales operational needs in peer departments and secure effective mutual SLAs with peer managers.
- Utilize available resources to identify and prioritize opportunities within current/potential market, especially those that traverse the known gap.
- Execute company-supported and/or Group-wide Marketing promotional programs/campaigns.
