Job Summary:

The Department of Psychology seeks an experienced, dynamic and engaging individual with a commitment to teaching as a profession for a full-time, 9-month lecturer position. While this is not a tenure track position, it is a renewable position, pending satisfactory progress. We have a strong history of supporting successful instructors in our Department, many of whom have committed to a career in teaching with us for 15 years or more. Salary is commensurate with experience, but those with experience teaching post Ph.D. can expect a minimum salary of $60,000/academic year and full benefits.

The successful candidate will provide instruction to our vibrant undergraduate population. While engaging in research is not an expectation of this position, the ideal candidate should have a strong research background, with experience teaching at multiple levels in the undergraduate curriculum, with the flexibility to teach classes at the Foundation level (e.g. Introduction to Psychology, Statistics, and Research Methods). A full-time teaching load is three courses per semester, with Teaching Assistant support.

The successful candidate will advance the educational mission of the Psychology Department, that values, prioritizes, and actualizes evidence-based and student-centered teaching. They will contribute to an environment that fosters engagement and a sense of belonging for faculty, staff, students and members of the broader community.

Responsibilities: Facilitates classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction and assists with instructional development and design for a single course or series of courses within an academic discipline to support the delivery of quality instruction. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, including grading. Serves as an instructor of record.

  • 80% Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
  • 10% Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
  • 5% Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
  • 5% Service to the department as needed.

Education:

Preferred

PhD or other terminal degree in Psychology or related field.

  • Experience and expertise in student assessment

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $59,238 ACADEMIC (9 months)

Depending On Qualifications

The typical starting salary for this position is $60,000 depending on qualifications and experience. The salary will be paid out over 9 months. Employees in this position can expect to receive benefits such as sick leave; competitive insurance and saving accounts; and retirement benefits. Employees have the option to continue benefits for the full calendar year.

Additional Information:

Preference for a Fall 2025 start date.
