As a Payroll Specialist, you are the lead person in supporting the development, maintenance and improvement of system applications for HR and Payroll through needs analysis, business requirements documentation, test conditions development, acceptance testing, consulting with users for needs assessment, process improvements, recommended solutions and implementation of applications.
The Payroll Specialist will make recommendations for the development and implementation of innovative and integrated programs and system strategies to facilitate achievement of HR and Payroll corporate goals.
Your challenges….
HR Information Systems:
Payroll:
Prepares payrolls as assigned; reviews and updates payroll records with changes per HR including taxes, direct deposit
and general deduction, uploads and verifies time from the timekeeping system.
Balances payroll by auditing information; identifies variances and processes pay resolutions
Meets payroll financial standards by providing payroll information to Finance
Reviews, verifies and releases W2’s meet time requirements by Valeo management and IRS
Resolves all payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing data; makes recommendations as appropriate
Understands payroll withholding rules for both federal and state taxes
Processes employee child support and wage garnishments
Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures, obtains required authorization for all payments
Prepares reports / compiles summaries as requested by HR, Finance, auditors, etc.
Primary contact and provides local system administration for timekeeping system to include access, data entry, reporting,
problem solving, training and data interface with payroll system operation. Ensures execution is according to HR policies
and the company handbook.
Works closely with Payroll specialists to support payroll system operation and security.

Qualifications:
You have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
You have strong knowledge and ability to effectively use MS Office software including but not limited to Word and Excel.
You have excellent written and oral communication skills.
You have strong analytical skills.
You are able to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
You have direct experience with Payroll functions and processing.
