What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intergovernmental Affairs Coordinator position at Valley Metro RPTA?
Under general supervision, this position serves as an integral member of the Policy and Government Relations team within the Executive Division. The Intergovernmental Affairs Coordinator supports policy and technical committees, performs policy and project analyses, summarizes research findings and funding opportunities, develops and prepares policy memos, coordinates special projects and serves as an intergovernmental relations liaison with federal, state and regional partners on issues or projects as assigned. This position reports to the Chief Policy and Government Relations Officer and will work alongside team members as a resource to increase communication, consistency and cohesion across the Agency and its member jurisdictions.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Public Relations/Affairs, Communications, Public Administration or a related field
- Five (5) years of experience working in a political or legislative environment, including responsibility for public policy, communications or serving as a policy or community outreach advisor in transportation planning, policy analysis, intergovernmental relations, or related field
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
- Evening and weekend assignments on occasion
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties listed may be considered
