JOB DESCRIPTION
Role
The Director of IT will lead the information technology department, ensuring the development and implementation of efficient and cost-effective IT systems to meet the strategic and operational needs of a $200 million contract manufacturing company. This role involves overseeing all technology operations, managing IT staff, and ensuring that technology systems and procedures lead to outcomes in line with the company's goals.
Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning and Leadership:
- Develop and execute the IT strategy in alignment with the company's business objectives.
- Provide leadership and vision for the development of IT initiatives and programs.
- Collaborate with senior management to propose, discuss, and implement technology solutions.
2. IT Operations and Infrastructure
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s IT infrastructure.
- Ensure the security of IT systems, networks, and data.
- Manage and optimize the performance of hardware, software, and network systems.
3. Project Management
- Lead and manage IT projects from conception through implementation, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Coordinate with various departments to determine their technology needs and integrate them into the overall IT strategy.
4. Team Management:
- Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing guidance and support for professional development.
- Recruit, hire, and retain skilled IT staff.
5. Budgeting and Cost Management:
- Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and optimal allocation of resources.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and systems that provide cost-effective solutions to meet business needs.
6. Vendor Management:
- Negotiate and manage contracts with IT service providers and vendors.
- Ensure service levels are met and monitor the performance of external partners.
7. Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure IT policies and procedures comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Manage IT risk through the development and enforcement of security policies and disaster recovery plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience in IT Management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and personnel management
- Strong understanding of manufacturing process and ERP systems
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects and drive organizational change
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices
Salary : $124,000 - $210,000
