Job Overview:
We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Recycling Yard Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling, sorting, and processing recyclable materials, operating heavy equipment, and ensuring a clean and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, and balers safely and efficiently.
- Sort and process recyclable materials, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
- Load and unload trucks and containers with scrap materials.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area by following safety protocols.
- Assist customers with unloading materials and ensure compliance with recycling guidelines.
- Monitor inventory levels and report any discrepancies to management.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any issues.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a recycling yard or industrial environment preferred.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment (certifications are a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Every weekend
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
